- Accounting Advisor (Staff Accountant) Local to Greenville, SC
Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Advisor (Staff Accountant) to join our dynamic team at The Hultquist Firm, a leading public accounting firm. As an Accounting Advisor, you will play a key role in supporting a wide range of accounting functions including providing clients with financial statement preparation, daily bookkeeping, and financial consulting for their unique business ventures, opportunities, and needs.
A minimum of 1 year of experience in a public accounting/CPA firm is required. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in the accounting field, work with diverse clients, and develop a solid foundation for a rewarding career in public accounting.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile client transactions which may include such items as daily sales, petty cash, banking/credit card statements, accounts payable and month-end closing entries of more complex client deliverables.
- Demonstrate excellent accounting and technical knowledge to be able to recognize inconsistencies and correct any errors found within financial statements.
- Review Company financials and suggest changes to reorganize accounting activities/practices to accurately provide visibility to company financial performance.
- Reconcile general ledgers, post journal entries, and produce error-free financial statements that are in compliance with GAAP.
- Support clients and team members with stellar relationship and communication skills; participate and lead client meetings as needed.
- Complete understanding and ability to follow the firm's policies and procedures.
- Exhibit time management and organizational skills.
- Serves as a role model for all staff in reflecting firm values, procedures, and client service model.
- Understands firm ethics and demonstrates them consistently.
- Performs such other duties as may be assigned.

- 1-3 years' experience in public accounting firm and/or professional services firm
- Associate degree required, Bachelor degree preferred
- Possess a working knowledge of firm technology, including the use of computers, email, and the Internet, and the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong computer and software implementation skills and familiarity with Wolters Kluwer's CCH Access platform a plus
- Experience with QuickBooks desktop and online
- Commitment to detailed financial accounting and reporting
- Excellent project management, analytical, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a team environment that is fast paced with a willingness to share knowledge or training
