Job Overview:
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Finance to lead and evolve the financial acumen at Everist, a fast-growing hair and skin wellness brand. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be accountable for all the financial and operational reporting for the company, as well as uncovering new ways to grow and scale profitability. This role is responsible for financial planning, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, product and channel margins and accounts payable and receivable. We’re looking for someone who can translate the numbers into a compelling story and provide insights to key stakeholders – an art! The ideal candidate will have relevant experience to draw on, but also be adaptable to a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where they can be both strategic and hands-on driving the business forward. We are looking for an ambitious, self-starter, with a sense of humour that thrives on the idea of having impact every day.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Statement
- Prepare financial reporting for monthly, quarterly and annual periods by channel, including tax and HR government filing compliance
- Oversee operational accounting activities, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll administration and product costing review
- Develop period end variance analysis reports, provide commentary and recommendations to stakeholders
- Develop, maintain, and monitor cash management policies and practices to ensure adequate cash is on hand to meet the company’s planned objectives and obligations including foreign currency risk management
- Lead the annual operating budget and multi year forecasts
- Lead and oversee preparation of year-end financial statements with external accounting partners
Sales and Operational Analysis
- Analyze and create reports to understand and evaluate trends in sales and operational data – looking for sales growth, mix and cost savings opportunities
- Develop a weekly and monthly Key Performance Indicator (KPI) dashboard of sales, financial and operational metrics
- Lead sales and profitability analysis of new product introductions and channels.
- Develop models, presentation decks and customized analysis to support new business and sales channels
Business Leadership
- Manage a part-time bookkeeper/ CPA accountant
- Manage relationship and liaise with the bank and other financial service providers
- Optimize working capital, recommend excess cash investments and reduce foreign exchange risk
- Oversee global business entity expansion, tax compliance, and virtual office locations
- Manage HR functions including Rippling platform, policies, payroll and performance management
- Risk management including insurance, IT, cyber security and IP protections.
- Assist in the selection, integration and workflows of a new ERP platform
- Support in fundraising and capital needs as required

Qualifications:
- Professional accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA or equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years post qualification experience, including 3 years management experience
- Experience in a CPG business strongly preferred
- ERP experience and extensive MS Excel skills, including pivot tables.
- QuickBooks and Shopify experience is an asset
- Complete discretion with sensitive information, both within the company and externally
