Our client is a top tier family office managing complex cross boarder investment. Reporting directly to the COO and the CFO you will have the unique opportunity to put in place the accounting functions for the group, harmonize processes and being in charge of driving changes, with the idea to have senior management responsibilities in the future.

The individual should have a recognized accounting qualification and 2-3 years of relevant experience working in an accounting / finance function, preferably in a financial services setting

Duties: create from scratch an internal accounting function (so moving away from outside service providers) covering the activities of two entities on in Geneva one abroad) including:

• selection & implementation of an accounting system
• designing work flow process to manage the life cycle of an expense from/to
  • invoice receipt
  • expense approval, subject to rules and limits
  • payment generation
  • payment approval & release, subject to rules & limits
  • bank reconciliation
  • design ways to populate Software / Portfolio Management Service with accounting data and other data to assist in the building of internal systems
  1. build internal reporting systems to give senior management regular granularity on the business
  2. to be involved in other finance orientated aspects of the business including the use of transfer pricing.

Requires knowledge and skills

• Accounting principles including double entry, accruals, prepayments, journals, design of the general ledger and group consolidation
• Swiss tax / VAT - international tax knowledge is a plus
• Swiss stamp duty
• Regulatory requirements
• Highly numerate
• Good communicator (both verbal and written) in both French and English
• Ability to analyse lots of data, so tech savvy with working knowledge of excel
