Description

Summary: Join a growing HOA/COA management firm… Potential for lateral career growth… Mostly work from home. Stop by office 2-3x a week… $60k-$75k comp plus benefits.

Who We Are: We are a community association management firm that manages homeowner associations (HOAs) and condo associations (COAs) in New Jersey, and cares for the physical and financial health of over 6,000 people’s homes and communities.

Your Role on the Team:  You would handle all of the accounting needs for the client associations in your portfolio. This includes:

  • Monthly Financial Review: Review monthly financials for accuracy and publish to clients.
  • Manage General Ledger: Make appropriate end of month general journal entries, and maintain appropriate expense schedules (e.g. accrued expense, prepaid insurance expense, etc.).
  • Client Communications: Respond to accounting questions from clients or their auditors.
  • A/R: 98% of AR is automated but some checks require exceptions processing.
  • A/P: Book and approve invoices.
  • Bank Management: Manage cash balances and make interfund cash transfers.
  • Budgets: Prepare draft budgets for all clients.

Success Metrics: At the end of your first year, success would mean:

  • High accuracy: 0-1 errors per quarter, not counting errors you find on your own.
  • High efficiency: Efficiency rates that are in line with the top operators in our industry.
  • Happy stakeholders: Positive 360° feedback from teammates, clients, and auditors.

Potential for Lateral Career Growth: Your role will initially be 100% focused on serving clients’ accounting needs. Over time, there may be potential, depending on interest and fit, for your responsibilities to shift to 80% accountant and 20% recruiting manager. This potential shift is not required if it does not interest you. If it does interest you, as a recruiting manager you would:

  • Screen resumes and conduct first-round interviews of job applicants.
  • Require strong communication skills.
  • Receive on the job training in resume screening and interviewing techniques. Prior recruiting experience is not expected.

Why Join Reliance Property Management Group?

We are a forward-thinking, growing team on a mission to transform the level of customer service in the community association management industry. Some of the factors that make our firm unique are:

  • People over Process: We have achieved high employee retention rates in part because “people over process” is one of our management principles.
  • Flexible Work from Home / New Brunswick, NJ Office: You could work mostly from home but would be expected to briefly stop by the New Brunswick office 2-3x/week. If you don’t like working from home, you can work out of the office full time. To nurture a sense of community and connection, we meet for lunch weekly or semimonthly in New Brunswick, NJ.
