Robert Half Financial Services are hiring for a Family Office Finance & Accounting Manager role for an Investment firm located in midtown Manhattan New York. Our client requires a CPA and 6+ years Finance and Accounting experience at a Family Office, Private Investment or Private Equity firm. Must have knowledge of FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, GAAP, month close and financial reporting. The role is 5 days per week in the midtown Manhattan office.

This Finance & Accounting Manager role sits at the intersection of accounting, financial analysis, and portfolio monitoring, offering direct exposure to the principal and meaningful visibility into business performance and decision-making.

Responsibilities:

Portfolio Oversight & Financial Monitoring

• Act as a key finance point of contact across portfolio companies, focusing on financial health, performance trends, and cash flow visibility

• Review monthly financials, management reports, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and identify potential issues

• Monitor weekly cash flows and liquidity position; track variances vs. expectations

• Analyze flash forecasts and short-term outlooks, identifying risks and opportunities

Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis

• Review and challenge annual budgets and rolling forecasts, including key assumptions and underlying drivers

• Assess CapEx plans and capital allocation decisions, including downstream financial implications

• Identify performance trends, anomalies, and emerging risks, and proactively flag to family office leadership

Reporting & Communication

• Consolidate and synthesize insights across portfolio companies for family office reporting

• Deliver clear, actionable updates to the principal, highlighting key issues and recommended actions

• Support the evolution of reporting packages, KPIs, and dashboards to improve visibility and decision-making

Control & Audit Oversight

• Serve as a control function, ensuring financial discipline and consistency across portfolio companies

• Support annual audit processes, including coordination with internal auditors and review of outputs

• Evaluate and recommend improvements to internal controls, financial processes, and reporting quality

Qualifications:

1. CPA license
2. 6+ years Finance and Accounting experience at a Family Office, Private Investment or Private Equity firm
3. Knowledge of FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, GAAP, month close and financial reporting
4. Knowledge of financial consolidation and multi-entity accounting.
5. Experience reviewing financials and identifying performance drivers and risks
6. Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with modeling and financial reporting tools is a plus.
7. Bachelor or Masters degree in Accounting or Finance
